Fatima Zahra Jaffar Jalloh wants to prove a point that females are not the weaker sex.
As the youngest teacher of technical education (tech-voc) tutoring both adults and her peers in wiring installations and graphic design, she is already well on her way to achieving her goal.
She has made several success stories and reports of her students getting jobs as a result of her lessons.
“When I teach they understand faster than if another person teaches them. I won’t say that I’m more clever than them but I do believe in my own way of doing it. It always starts at a lower level so that they can learn faster.”
On a daily basis, Fatima goes to school before attending her class to teach them their daily dose of learning and improving technical skills.
“After I finnish with my academic work at two o’clock, I go to my technical skills.”
The 15-year-old says that all over the world, many believe the female gender is a weaker sex and this is Fatima’s motivition she says.
“It is my motivation because I do not believe and will never believe that females are the weaker sex. In the next five to 10 years, I promise that I will make an engine in Sierra Leone.
“I am going to show that females are not the weaker sex.”
