You may have heard the song ‘Jerusalema’ trending everywhere in the world and 24-year-old, Kgaogelo Moagi better known as Master KG says he never thought his music would take the world by storm.

Currently trending with over 102 million views on YouTube (as of August 28th, 2020) is Master KG’s ‘Jerusalema’ featuring Nomcebo, which for some strange reason, instantly resonates with one’s music intuition, the moment you hear it.

Kgaogelo Moagi is a South African musician and record producer who says he is amazed at the wonders his song is doing.

‘I cannot describe the feeling right now. It is amazing to see people enjoying your song and vibing to it. It is truly amazing. A song that was released last year is still heavily trending this year and topping charts upon charts all over the world is truly just amazing.’

According to Master KG, he had no special inspiration or motivation to put the song together.

‘There was no motivation. I was in the studio on a regular day doing my very regular things and then I created the beat. I listened to it a couple of times and I just felt something special about the beat. So, I called up Nomcebo and told her I had a beat and she would be the perfect person to work on it. The beat bears some kind of spirituality to it, so I told her I would love for her to have lyrics of some spiritual connection.’

Nomcebo showed up to Master KG’s studio the next day and after listening to the beat a couple of times, the duo came up with the very simple lyrics, which according to him means, ‘Jerusalem is my home. Please protect me and guide me home. Do not leave me here.’

Jerusalema is currently on heavy rotation in many countries around the world and many social media users have taken the opportunity to engage in a dance challenge.
